Perry County Community Task Force

Helping today's youth become tomorrow's leaders

The theme of this year’s conference is “You Matter.” For this year’s scholarship we want you to write a letter to your younger self explaining why you matter and why your choices matter.

There are two ways to submit an entry for this scholarship, however you may only submit one entry. The submission must be an essay of at least 500 words


A video of you showing us why you matter! Video submissions must be between 1-3 minutes.

1. Applicants must be a resident of Perry County.
2. Applicants must be a Senior in high school.
3. Applicants must be planning to attend a post-secondary institution. This includes any 2- or 4-year college, trade school program, academy, ect.
4. Applicants must submit all requirements (application and essay/video essay) to the Perry County Community Task Force (via hardcopy or through website*) by 5:00pm April 1, 2024. Late entries will NOT be accepted.

Up to six winners will receive a scholarship in the amount of $500. The winners will be announced during the 2024 DEFY Project conference. The winner must be in attendance at the conference in order to receive the scholarship.**​​

*Scholarship requirements can be submitted by mail or brought to the Perry County Community Task Force office located at 21 S. Main St, Perryville, MO or all requirements can also be submitted online through the PCCTF website

**Scholarship is to be paid directly to the recipient’s school of choice.
